Care Assistant — Care Homes (Day Shifts), Northampton & Leicestershire

We are recruiting care assistants for day shifts in care homes across Northampton and Leicestershire. If you want to build your hours up, we can add daytime home-care visits around your care-home shifts, so you can put together the hours that work for you.

What a day shift is actually like

Days in a care home are busy and sociable. You will help residents get up, washed and dressed, support them through their meals, help with medication where you are trained to, and take part in the activities and conversation that make a home somewhere people actually want to live. Families come in during the day, so you are often the person they talk to about how their relative is getting on. Day shifts are the best time to learn the job — there are more staff on, and more chances to be shown how things are done.

Where you will work

This is a wider, more spread-out area than our Rugby patch, so where you are based matters. In and around Northampton — and out towards Daventry and Towcester — there is steady care-home work. Across Leicestershire, the work runs from the city itself out to the market towns like Lutterworth, Market Harborough and Hinckley. Tell us where you live and we will match you to homes you can realistically get to, rather than sending you across the county.

You do not need care experience

Plenty of our best carers came from retail, hospitality, or from caring for their own family. We train people who are new to care — a full induction, the Care Certificate, and all the mandatory training the role needs.
