About care at home
How quickly can care start?
It depends on the level of support needed and where you are. After your assessment we will tell you honestly when we could start — and if we cannot meet your timescale we will say so rather than keep you waiting.
Do I get the same carer each time?
We plan rotas for continuity, so you should see a small group of familiar faces rather than someone different each visit. Complete continuity is not possible — carers take holiday and get ill — but we introduce anyone new wherever we can.
What is the shortest visit you offer?
Visit length is agreed with you as part of your care plan at assessment, because it depends on what support is actually needed. Call us with your situation and we will tell you what we can offer before you commit to anything.
Can care be changed or stopped?
Yes. Care plans are reviewed regularly and can be adjusted whenever your needs change. If you want to stop, you can — any notice period is set out in the care agreement you sign, so you will know it before you start.
What happens in an emergency?
Our carers are trained in what to do and there is an on-call line whenever care is being delivered. If someone needs urgent medical help, the first call is always 999.
For care homes
How quickly can you fill a shift?
It depends on the role, the time and your location. Call us and we will tell you what we can realistically cover and by when — we would rather be straight with you than take a booking we cannot fill.
Are your staff DBS checked?
Yes. Every worker we place holds an enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, alongside verified identity, right to work, references, and — for nurses — current NMC registration checked before placement.
Can we request the same staff again?
Yes, and we encourage it. Continuity is better for your residents and means less time spent on induction. Tell us who worked well and we will try to send them back.
What are your rates?
Rates depend on the role, the shift pattern and how much notice we have, so we quote them on enquiry rather than publish a single figure that would not fit your home. Call or email us and we will send you our current rate card.
Working for us
Do I need experience to apply?
No. We recruit people new to care as well as experienced staff. If you are reliable, patient and genuinely interested in people, we will train you in the rest.
Do I need a driving licence?
It helps, particularly for home care visits across a wider area, but it is not essential for every role. Tell us your situation on the application form.
What training will I get?
A paid induction aligned to the Care Certificate, mandatory training kept up to date, and shadow shifts before you work independently. There are routes on to senior roles for people who want them.
What do you pay?
Pay depends on the role, your experience and whether the shifts are weekdays, weekends or nights. Tell us which role you are interested in and we will give you the current rate for it, along with holiday, pension and mileage, before you decide whether to apply.
Practical and legal
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Rugby, Coventry, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Our office is in Rugby, so that is where we have the deepest coverage, and we work outwards from there. Coverage also depends on the level of support needed and our current staffing, so please call us to check your specific address — we would rather tell you honestly up front than agree to a package we cannot staff properly.
Are you regulated?
Yes. Personal care delivered in someone's home is a regulated activity in England and must be registered with the Care Quality Commission. Divergent Healthcare Limited, trading as Kare Plus Rugby, is registered with the CQC as provider 1-18444576596. The service has not yet been inspected, so it does not carry a rating — we say that plainly rather than imply one.
How do you handle my personal information?
We only use your details to provide and arrange care, and we handle them in line with UK GDPR. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. You can ask for a copy of your data at any time.
How do I make a complaint?
Tell us as early as you can — by phone, email or in writing. Our complaints procedure sets out how we investigate and how long it takes. Raising a complaint will never affect the care you receive.
Still not sure?
Ask us directly. There is no such thing as a silly question when you are arranging care.
